Woodscrews
Woodscrews are specially designed fasteners that are widely used to join wooden workpieces. They are mostly made from metals or alloys. Woodscrews, as with all screws, comprise a head, a tip, and a shank. On most woodscrews, the shank is part-threaded, whereby the threading only extends around three-quarters of the way down the body. However, there are some variations that have a fully-threaded shank from head to tip.
The majority of woodscrews feature a countersunk head that is blended into the shank. The advantage of this is that it helps attain a smooth finish where the screw head rests flush against the surface of the workpiece. When choosing a woodscrew, you should consider the material strength and size/thickness. We offer woodscrews in a variety of lengths, diameters, and gauge sizes. Most are made from steel (stainless or high-carbon), although they are also available in titanium, brass, or aluminium. Woodscrews with a drive recess are much easier to use, and some feature shanks that reduce wood splitting.
