OSB board is made by cutting logs into strands, mixing them with adhesives and then compressing and drying them. It is stronger and more durable than plywood and can withstand damp conditions. The way OSB board is made means it is uniform and can be easily sawed, drilled, nailed and filed. Nails can even be placed near to the edges without the risk of the board splitting. OSB can be sanded to make it smooth while not compromising its strength.

There are two different types of OSB- OSB2 and OSB3. OSB 2 is better for non-load bearing projects in dry conditions. OSB3 can be used for load-bearing projects in damp conditions.

If you are using your OSB purchase for outdoor projects you may want to add more weather protection to make your OSB board waterproof and longer lasting. Our range of Sterling OSB has been certified by the Forest Stewardship Council (FSC) to ensure it is environmentally friendly. All of our stock is made from UK timber. We stock OSB sheets in 11m and 18mm.
