Decorative Stone

Transform your drive or elevate your garden landscaping plans to new heights with our range of decorative stone. Available in 25kg pre-pack bags or in bulk bags which contain approximately 850kg worth of stone.

Our range of 25kg bags are ideally suited to those needing to create a small area of decorative stone, or who are topping up an existing landscaping feature within their property boundary, while the larger quantities that are supplied in bulk bags will require home delivery or collection on a trailer or flatbed truck and are suited to new and more extensive projects.  Please note that we only offer bulk bag delivery to the South Wales area at the moment.

Our range of decorative stone is available in a range of sizes, colours and styles, meaning that wherever you are planning a revamp, our comprehensive range has you covered. We stock chippings in a range of sizes, decorative golden flint, Cotswold stone and plum slate.

These products are ideally suited to patio borders, garden paths and as a decorative surround to a garden pond or other feature. Cotswold stone can also be used for driveways. We stock a full range of accessories to complement these products, including wooden sleepers and weed control membrane; remember you’ll need a shovel to scatter your stones!

Decorative stone is easy to install and can improve the drainage of your area, supporting erosion control measures when installed on slopes and can provide very effective, natural and reusable ground cover to protect flower beds from succumbing to the effects of heavy or prolonged rainfall.

For best effect, remove the top layer of soil, create a solid border into which you lay a weed control membrane, then top with decorative stone. By layering your products in this manner, your lovely decorative stone will be safely contained and free from weeds, creating a delightful visual aesthetic that will require minimal maintenance.

We offer a kerb-side only delivery Monday to Friday in the South Wales region, with the majority of orders being dispatched within 5 working days. Specialist items and special orders may take longer to dispatch.

Please contact Mill Timber Direct for advice or for a tailored recommendation as to which decorative stone is best suited to your particular project.

Decorative Stone FAQs

What Can Decorative Stone Be Used For?

Decorative stones can be used in a variety of ways to add interest in your garden. You could use them as edging around a lawn or border or lay them as pathways. You could also use larger decorative pieces as stepping stones or use them in water features, including fountains and ponds, to create a natural feel.

What Do You Put Under Decorative Stone?

You can lay decorative stone directly on top of soil after clearing any weeds, plants or debris. Level the soil out using a rake to ensure an even surface before using a tamper to compact it. You then need to put down a layer of weed membrane to prevent weeds, securing it with pins or stakes. If you want to prevent spread, add edging material to keep the stones in place.
