All timber used in construction is given a grade and grouped according to its structural properties and strength, determining the type of jobs it is best suited for. At Mill Timber Direct, you can find a substantial range of the most popular of these - C16 and C24 grade timbers.

C16 grade timber is ideal for use in internal building work including floor and roof joists. C24 is around 50% stronger than C16 and can be used to bear heavier weights. Our selection of graded timber comes in a wide range of sizes. We offer both C16 and C24 grade timber which is kiln dried but untreated, making it suitable for internal use. Our range also includes C16 and C24 graded timber which has been treated to enhance durability and make it suitable for external use too.

You can also find TR26 timber among our stock. TR26 is a grade timber classed as more sustainable. Kiln-dried and planed, it is often used in roof trusses. Much of our graded timber is certified by the FSC, meaning that the wood used has met the standards and requirements of the Forest Stewardship Council.
